
Ģirts Rungainis
Ģirts Rungainis has spearheaded and led a number of major transactions in the Baltics, including the sale of the German-Latvian Bank to AS Hansabank (today part of Swedbank Baltics), the IPO of Balta, the sale of Latvijas Neatkarīgā Televīzija (LNT) - the largest commercial television company in Latvia, and the sale of the controlling equity stake of Lauma - the leading Eastern European lingerie company, the private placement of ELKO Grupa, one of the largest IT wholesale companies in the CEE and CIS region, and the sale of JSC Lode. Ģirts has been advising Latvian government on its majority shareholding position in the leading CEE airline AS "Air Baltic Corporation".
Ģirts organized the management buyout in DEPO – the leading DIY retailer in the Baltics, advised largest clinical laboratory in Latvia E.Gulbja laboratorija.
In addition to that Ģirts has been actively involved in improvement of Latvian business environment and competitiveness promotion activities through being a member of council in the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he is founding partner of think tank LASER. He is Supervisory Board member of DEPO DIY as well of company Valpro – one of the biggest longstanding metal working companies in Latvia.
